This is a monthly prayer update for the Kuy people of Cambodia. We would like to encourage as much
prayer as possible so we are sending this to many people. If you know of prayer
groups or individuals who would like to pray for this group, please feel free to
forward this email to them. If you are not interested in continuing to receive
these updates, please reply to this email and let us know. We will remove your name from the list.
On a recent survey trip, Tom visited a Kuy village. In a conversation
with one Kuy lady, he asked if she had heard of Jesus. She had not so much
as heard the name. We trust that this lack of knowledge about our Lord will
soon be a thing of the past.
Praise
1. We continue to connect with other Christians working
with Kuy. Recently Tom met a Cambodian pastor overseeing a group of
churches. One of the pastors under him is himself Kuy and another Khmer
pastor has a church of over 100 in a Kuy village.
2. We had an excellent trip to the Kuy area as a family just before
Christmas. We were able to meet some Kuy people, see the area and climb to
the famous Preah Vihear temple ruins on the border with Thailand. This was
a strenuous climb, two hours up. We were put to shame by a 62 year old Kuy
widow in our group who climbed it in flip flops. She said she prayed to Jesus
for strength.
3. Progress is being made on mapping the Kuy population.
Prayer Requests
1. Continue to pray that we will get a web site up and running
soon.
2. Petition the Lord of the harvest for more workers for this field
who will share our vision.
3. Pray for Rith, Khmer literacy worker and friend of ours, who has a
mixed Khmer/Kuy fellowship in the provincial capital or Preah Vihear and a group
of Kuy believers numbering about 15 in a village along the main road.
