We had the privilege of visiting a church in a Kuy village this month. It is like many other Khmer churches, but most of the people are Kuy since it is in a Kuy village. The pastor is an itinerant pastor, a High School teacher who comes from the town every week. There were about 30 people. This particular denomination has one other Kuy congregation meeting in a house in the next village. They also have a Kuy pastor in training. We were very excited to fellowship with this group of believers. The head of the denomination has a lot of contacts with Kuy people in another area as well. This other area could turn out to be a key place for us to get started.

 

Praise:

1.    We had a very good trip to two different areas as a family during Nate's spring break. This included the visit with the Kuy church and a visit to another province, Kratie, where Tom was able to survey a group of Kuy villages.

 

2.    Tom was able to test out the Kuy Jesus film made for Kuy in Thailand in one area and found that they could not easily understand it. The Khmer version was better for them. Though we are sorry this film may not be very useful, it is helpful to know.

 

3.    Progress is being made on surveying the Kuy villages.

 

Pray:

 

1.    Continue to pray for Donnelly's preparations to come to do her internship here and for us to have good plans to utilize her.

 

2.    For God to clearly direct us to the best area to begin work in Kuy villages.

 

3.     For likeminded Khmer believers to get involved with Kuy evangelism and discipleship.

 

4.    Pray that the Lord will lead us to more contacts with people who can help us to make inroads into Kuy villages.
