Partnerships,
again...
The old adage says, "If at first you don't succeed ..."
This is the story of partnerships. We have had a couple of possible partnerships
which did not bear fruit. Last week Tom met a young church leader in Kampong
Thom (pronounced "Tome") who genuinely seems to have a heart for the Kuy
(pronounced "Gooey") people. He grew up in the church and is very active as
a youth leader. He has made a couple to trips to Kuy areas on his own
initiative. We are very excited to see God raising up Khmer believers with a
heart to reach the unreached in their own country. Jet (pronounced like the
airplane) will accompany Tom next week on a trip to Rumchek (pronounced "Room
jake"). This is the village in Preah Vihear ("Pray-uh Vee hia") where we
are trusting God that a cell group of believers will begin this year. We
are hoping that Jet will be God's man for the Kuy and a good partner to work
with us in preparing oral materials and doing evangelism among the Kuy.
- Pray for Tom's trip to Rumchek with Jet next week; for safe travel
(no rain deluges), good reception with Kuy people there, Jet to communicate
the Gospel well in ways that will make sense to the people and especially for
God's work in hearts of villagers while they are there.
- Especially pray for Rii ("Ree") and Srae Chhon ("Chawn") in Rumchek who
have already been exposed to the Gospel.
- Praise God for our web page training and that we now have a family
web page up and running. Check it out at www.newhousesonline.com.
P.S. I have included pronunciation guidelines for a few words this time as
suggested. Please let us know if there are ways you feel we could improve these
communications. Thank you for praying!
