Memorial to Matt
Thank
you for your prayers for our friends Matt and Susu Cinavou. Early
Tuesday morning Matt passed away. We rejoice that he is at home with
Jesus now. His wife, Susu, was beside him as she had been since the
accident in the Cambodian countryside on Saturday. Matt was unable to
have the proposed surgery on Monday morning to realign and fuse the
bones in his neck. He went into cardiac arrest in the operating
theater. He never did fully stabilize after that. His injuries were
just too great.
We
are deeply saddened at this loss. Matt was a godly man. He gave his all
to the Lord and His work. He had a deep and abiding trust in God and a
joyful spirit. He will be missed by many including his sending church,
Christian Mission Fellowship in Fiji, the church in the Kuy village of
Andas and the church and dorm they started here in Phnom Penh. They had
begun taking students for evangelism into some of the unevangelized Kuy
villages. In fact the accident occurred when they were on their way to
a Kuy village.
Matt
and Susu had been married just two years. They have no children. Please
pray for Susu to know the presence, comfort and peace of God in the
midst of the grieving process. Pray also for wisdom and the ability to
hear the voice of God as she looks at what is ahead for her.
Pray
that the work God is doing among the Kuy will continue to expand and
produce much fruit because of this sacrifice. Ask the Lord of the
Harvest to send out more laborers in Matt's place.
