Susu Forges Ahead
A
little over a year ago our dear friend Susu lost her husband after an
accident on the way to ministry in a Kuy village. Since then, God has
empowered her to continue the work they were involved with. She has
been joined by another single missionary from Fiji, Nani.
Together they continue ministry to students who live in their dorm in
Phnom Penh. A group of these students have formed a team with Susu to
do regular outreach to Kuy villages which do not have churches yet. Two
of these students are themselves Kuy. Mau (a boy) is studying Khmer
Literature at the University of Phnom Penh. Chanta (a girl) is studying
English and computer privately. Veasna is Susu's Khmer language helper
and a growing Christian leader. Early this month she and her team
visited the village of Traporng Tortem. A widow (pictured with one of
the team at left) indicated a desire to trust Christ. They will be
visiting this home to see a house church established. Susu and her team
have plans to visit two more villages the last weekend of Feb.
Intercede with us for:
- Susu
to have wisdom as a leader and to really be established in her Khmer
language skills (She is studying Khmer for Foreigners at the University
this year.)
- Veasna, Mau and Chanta to have wisdom and diligence in their studies and for growth, vision and passion for the lost
- the
newly formed house church in Traporng Tortem to flourish and grow. Pray
that the widow and her family would grow in understanding and faith and
that others will be added.
- outreaches
coming up; for clear direction on the places to go, for divine
appointments with those whose hearts are prepared and for the Holy
Spirit to use Susu and her team to speak to hearts and minds.
- Bunhea, a young Kuy man who is currently in Bible School in Fiji; for good preparation for ministry in Cambodia.
