Introducing a new Worker
A new missionary moved to the Kuy area last December to begin
learning the
Kuy language. There are two main dialects of Kuy in Cambodia and she is
working on the one that we were learning in the village last month. She
will be working to set up literacy training in Kuy language.
She is excited that the new Kuy alphabet (based on Khmer alphabet) is
now officially approved by the Cambodian government. Her Kuy tutor, a
student from a nearby village who is living in her town while she
attends high school, recently moved in with her. Soon she will welcome
several other
young ladies into her home. They get a place to stay in order to go to
high school and she gets live-in language practice. Here are some
praises and prayer requests from this new worker.
- Praise God for the approval of the Kuy writing system! Praise God
also for those people who are enthusiastic about having materials to
read in their language.
- Praise God for the patient tutoring that Somat gives, and also
that she is now living with me. Pray that it would be a good adjustment
for her, and that she would enjoy her time here as she studies.
- Pray for the students who will be coming to live in my home in
September. Pray for a good group of students to be brought together,
and that good relationships would develop among the group.
- Pray for continued strength and energy, that previous health
problems would not resurface.
