The Value of a Leader

One of the people that we have gotten to know the best among the Kuy is Pastor Kon Kouen. He pastors the church in the village of O'Krouch. Tom has stayed in his home more than once. He and his wife have been in our home as well. He has been a helpful cultural informant and encouragement.

Kon Kouen is also the village leader. And is a candidate for the Commune Council (a Commune comprises a group of villages, in this case about 20) in the Commune elections to be held Sunday, 1 April 2007. He is clearly a leader and it could be that his sphere of influence will expand quite a bit this year.

Ask God to raise up more leaders like Kon Kouen for the Kuy church.
Pray for wisdom for Kon Kouen in his capacity as pastor and as village leader.
Pray for God's will concerning the Commune leader position. It could be a position of greater influence for the gospel, but it could also make him so busy he has less time for the church.
